Our experience with Design-build goes back over 20 yearsSince its inception in 1994, TDM has successfully completed the planning, design and construction administration of dozens of K-12 and Higher Education projects that well exceed $300 million in value. We have extensive experience not only in various types of educational facilities but in project delivery methods as well. Our experience includes conventional Design-Bid-Build, Multi-Prime, and Design-Build. While each of the above delivery methods has its advantages relative to a given type of project, Design-Build project delivery has emerged as a remedy to many of the shortcomings of more conventional methods that have been practiced for decades.

Many K-12 and Community College Districts, in addition to other state and federal sectors, strive to reap the potential benefits of Design-Build in terms of time and money savings in addition to the potential for reduced conflicts and risk management. Our experience goes back twenty years to a previous partnership with Jillson Construction of which TDM Principal, John Tegtmeyer, had an ownership interest. Jillson completed many design-build projects of various sizes. In particular, John Tegtmeyer worked with Jillson for the design of Weirick Hall, a senior residence facility for the California PEO home which was completed in the early 1990's as a design build contract. Another design-build effort in collaboration with Jillson Construction was the Lincoln Avenue Water Company's New Headquarters Building in Altadena, California.

Active members of the Design-Build Institute of AmericaTDM is currently the design partner on a Design-Build project for the Los Angeles Community College District at its Los Angeles Mission College campus. The $11.5 million project consists of nine various modernization and ADA upgrades with individual DSA application numbers. Four out of nine are already DSA approved and constructed. These four projects are currently in the DSA "Close Out" phase.

We are active members of the Design-Build Institute of America and we are committed to applying the lessons learned from ongoing projects to improve and streamline the process of designing and delivering a successful project, one that meets the rigorous requirements of regulatory agencies in addition to meeting and exceeding our clients' goals and missions.
